The annual Back Porch Festival returns to the heart of Northampton, MA on March 27-29, 2026 for its 12th consecutive year. As the sole winter music festival in New England, this major music weekend contains over 60 nationally-touring level acts and local gems across 10+ diverse venues in the downtown area.
Produced by Signature Sounds Presents and The Iron Horse, this year’s Academy of Music Theatre headliners are 2026 Grammy winner I’m With Her, BERTHA: Grateful Drag, and Peter Rowan with Sam Grisman Project playing music from Old & In The Way.
Back Porch Festival Ramble artists including Chuck Prophet & His Cumbia Shoes, Margaret Glaspy, James McMurtry, Rebirth Brass Band, Willi Carlisle, Tommy Prine, Low Cut Connie, Big Richard, The Mammals, Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio, Sally Baby’s Silver Dollars, Winterpills, and many more, PLUS a special Bob Weir tribute sing-along. On Sunday, March 29 at 11 a.m., The Academy of Music will also feature a special showing of You Got Gold: A Celebration of John Prine, a star-studded tribute concert film, captured in October 2022 at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, honoring the legendary songwriter's enduring legacy. Featuring heartfelt performances and behind-the-scenes stories, the event brought together family, friends, and acclaimed artists like Bonnie Raitt, Brandi Carlile, Tyler Childers, Lucinda Williams, Dwight Yoakam, Jason Isbell, and Bob Weir to celebrate Prine’s life and music on the iconic stage. Screening is included in Ramble Passes.
