Billy Strings has taken to social media to help outline an inaugural event, dubbed the Ionia Freak Fair. The two-day gathering is scheduled to take place at the Ionia Fairgrounds in Ionia, Mich., and will mark a home-state return for the supposed host. On the entertainment docket for the August 28-29, 2026 gathering are a range of bluegrass titans and genre-associated acts known for crossing paths with Strings throughout his decade-plus in the public eye.

News of the group's elongated stay in Sin City arrives after Don Henley suggested the band’s potential to step away from the live stage after the lapse of this calendar year. According to the group's latest tour announcement, they will play two concerts on April 10-11, 2026, at the state-of-the-art Nevada venue ahead of any changes.

Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country pulled into San Francisco on Wednesday, Feb. 11. The Nashville-based four-piece took the stage at The Independent after completing a slow crawl down the Western shoreline–live shows in Washington and Oregon. The group’s resulting visit to the jam mecca included nods to Bobby Weir’s cowboy era during the first set and, later, the arrival of local fixture and guitarist, Reed Mathis.
