Billy Strings made the most of his day off in Charleston, WV on Sunday, August 2. According to reports, the guitarist, who was in town to play the 13,5000-capacity Charleston Coliseum last night, stopped by the approximately 100-person Empty Glass bar to play his Gibson SG electric guitar with the John Inghram Band for about an hour. The Sunday jam session is a regularly occurrence at the Empty Glass, hosted by Inghram, a local musician and producer on NPR’s Mountain Stage Radio Show.

Elvis Costello’s 1977 debut album will be explored in expanded form this fall. My Aim Is True (49th Anniversary Edition), is a five-CD box set that will explore how Declan MacManus transformed into Elvis Costello. In addition to newly mastered version of the original album, this collection will draw together demos, masters, outtakes, live performances and interviews, most of which are previously unreleased.
This special edition features interviews with members of Widespread Panic and other key figures who have helped shape the group’s compelling creative output. Archival images, poster art, and additional visual elements also set the tone. Indeed, the spirit of this issue will match the vigor and vitality of a buoyant band that never hesitates to ask, “Ain’t Life Grand?”

Eggy have confirmed their last tour of the calendar year. Humorously described by the hard-touring Connecticut-bred band as The Final Tour of 2026, the meat of the run will kick off at Buffalo, NY’s Buffalo Iron Works on October 15 and come to a close at Suwannee, FL’s Hulaween on October 23. After a short pause, Eggy will then host multi-night stands at Ardmore, PA’s Ardmore Music Hall on November 6 and 7, New York’s Bowery Ballroom on November 13 and 14, Washington, DC’s The Atlantis on November 20 and 21 and Toronto’s Annabel’s on December 4 and 5. They will also return to New Haven, CT’s Toad’s Place, where they played their first proper club gig as teenagers, for a Thanksgiving Eve show on Wednesday, November 25.

Port Chester, NY’s The Capitol Theatre will host Especially Everyone, a night celebrating neurodiversity, live music and connection on Saturday, October 10. The EE Ensemble, a high-energy funk and jam-approved outfit featuring neurodivergent and neurotypical musicians, will serve as the evening’s house band and Oteil Burbridge, Jennifer Hartswick and Karl Denson are among the guest musicians slated to join the festivities. Landing on World Mental Health Day and World Inclusion Day, The EE 2026 Fall Experience is described as “a concert that makes a statement: music is a right, not a privilege and everyone belongs in the room” and “a show built to break down barriers so everyone has the opportunity to connect to and through live music.”

Members of several prominent jambands will come together to help fight cancer in October. Slated to take place at Ardmore, PA’s Ardmore Music Hall on October 7, the Rock the Pink benefit show will feature a core house band of moe. guitarist Al Schnier, moe. drummer Vinnie Amico, Disco Biscuits bassist Marc Brownstein, Disco Biscuits keyboardist Aron Magner, Goose drummer Cotter Ellis and The String Cheese Incident percussionist Jason Hann. Allie Kral, Andy Frasco, Kanika Moore and Nicki Bluhm are all also slated to sit in with the one-night-only band at various points throughout their set. 100% of the evening’s proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.

JoJo Hermann has confirmed a handful of Midwest solo shows. The Widespread Panic keyboardist will kick things off at St. Louis, MO’s City Winery on September 2, before making stops at Chicago’s Garcia’s on September 4 and 5 and Milwaukee, WI’s The Cooperage on September 6. Guitarist Sam Holt, a onetime Widespread Panic tech and sub lead guitarist with the band, will serve as a special guest on all four dates.

Robert Randolph, Karl Denson, Trey Anastasio Band’s Jen Hartswick and Natalie Cressman and Adam Met of AJR and Planet Reimagined will all take part of this fall’s Climate Jam. Scheduled for New York’s Brooklyn Bowl on Tuesday, September 22, the evening will be held during Climate Week NYC, benefiting Protect Our Winters. The organization’s stated mission is to help “passionate outdoor people protect the land they love by promoting non-partisan policies designed to protect our world.”

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong have added a three-night Washington, DC run to their fall itinerary. The Baltimore, MD-bred band will return the Mid-Atlantic region for an intimate “evening with” show at Washington, DC’s The Atlantis on Thursday, December 3, before moving over to the marquee 9:30 Club on Friday, December 4 and Saturday, December 5. Fireside Collective will open Friday’s show, while Dizgo will provide support duties on Saturday.
