Willie Nelson and Emmylou Harris are reminding listeners that they’re willin’ to shake the dust off a classic and pay tribute to woefully underrated and exceptionally gifted Little Feat kingpin, the late Lowell George. Today, the pair have unveiled their previously unissued cover of the honoree’s trademark, “Willin’.” The track is a feature of Rock And Roll Doctor: Lowell George Tribute Album, a two-disc collection, available on vinyl for the first time on April 18 for Record Store Day, with a CD and digital release slated for April 24.

Acclaimed guitarist Bill Frisell celebrates his 75th birthday with the release of his 5th Blue Note album In My Dreams. A family reunion of sorts that brings some of the acclaimed guitarist’s closest friends together into a unique sextet featuring Jenny Scheinman, Eyvind Kang, Hank Roberts, Thomas Morgan, and Rudy Royston.

Following the arrival of last year’s studio set, Everything Must Go, genre-blending, jam-seekers, Goose have invited others to have a crack at their compositions on Everything Must Go Remix. The fully remixed electronic set is out now and features fresh interpretations from a roster of esteemed producers and artists, including LP Giobbi, Chromeo, and Louis The Child. The reworked 14-track collection connects the band’s ability to extemporize with their rock sensibilities, fueling a taste for the digital age.

These items reveal the Grateful Dead not just as a band, but as a literary movement: a community of poets, scholars, and writers whose work gave shape and meaning to the music. For collectors and scholars alike, this is a rare opportunity to own pieces of that story.

In My Dreams is both familiar Bill Frisell and brand-new Bill Frisell. The renowned guitarist, who is quite successful at never determinedly repeating himself, has recorded before in a trio with bassist Thomas Morgan and drummer Rudy Royston, beginning with 2016’s When You Wish Upon a Star, and he’s also made music before with violinist Jenny Scheinman, violist Eyvind Kang and cellist Hank Roberts, going back two decades to the album Richter 858.
