Boojum & Hot Like Mars team up for Electric Wonderland on Mars at Brooklyn Bowl on FRI, MAR 27!
These jam-funk bands create a night of futuristic music and theater that has never been imagined before.
Boojum's back with another performance experiment. New synth setup. Futuristic trance-dancing. Ritualistic theatricality. The Brooklyn-based art band moves beyond its Electric Wonderland origins into uncharted territory. Witness the conversion. Created by the team behind Bushwick’s Dead, the jam collective that serves as Brooklyn Bowl’s house band, Boojum combines original songwriting, improvisation, and theatrical staging into a vivid and high-energy live experience.
Hot Like Mars are Chicago’s funkiest, most soulful rock export — a jam-funk quintet built on airtight grooves, fearless improvisation, and a deeply collaborative vocal sound. Blending classic soul and R&B textures with modern jam-band firepower, the band delivers a live show that keeps dance floors moving and crowds locked in.
Since launching in late 2023, Hot Like Mars have grown from a hometown buzz band into a fast-rising national touring act, selling 1,000+ tickets across a packed Chicago residency and supporting sold-out shows at The Metro and Park West for Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and Andy Frasco. Their 2025 breakout included a standout set at Northlands Music & Arts Festival, a multi-date Colorado run, and a first-ever East Coast tour capped by a sold-out night at Charleston Pour House. Heading into 2026, Hot Like Mars continues to center a core ethos: using music to break down racial barriers, create inclusive spaces, and remind people that joy, movement, and community belong to everyone.
