Today, venerable musician, composer, and decorated bandleader Bruce Hornsby has unveiled the second single off his forthcoming album, Indigo Park, due on April 3 via Zappo Productions/Thirty Tigers. Titled “Ecstatic,” the latest preview represents a musical reunion for Hornsby and Bonnie Raitt, who lends her harmonies on the new track, bolstering a relationship that ties back to their first collaboration on the songstress’ 1991 hit, “I Can’t Make You Love Me.”

Oceans Calling Festival has announced the full artist lineup for its 2026 event, returning to Ocean City, Md. this year for its fourth annual presentation. From Sept. 25-27, the scenic summer send-off will call an eclectic mix of alt-rock, jam, indie-pop, reggae and more to the Ocean City Boardwalk for a weekend of aughts nostalgia. Brought to life by a partnership with Rockville, Md.’s own roots-rock innovators O.A.R., this year’s festival will feature 40 acts, led by headliners Dave Matthews Band, Mumford & Sons and Twenty One Pilots.

The editor responsible for the entry was Maria Leach, a folklore scholar best known for her monumental Dictionary of Folklore. She consulted Gerould's book to write the entry. We are pleased to offer the correct 1956 edition, confirmed by consulting the actual dictionary, which differs from the version famously depicted in The Book of the Deadheads.

Earl Scruggs Music Festival, the annual gathering that honors the namesake three-finger picking banjo player, has unveiled the official artist lineup for its fifth annual Labor Day Weekend event, Sept. 4-6, 2026. Held at the Tryon International Equestrian Center (Tryon International) in Mill Springs, N.C., the beloved occasion will boast a top-of-the-line roster of premier American roots artists, such as Béla Fleck: My Bluegrass Heart, Greensky Bluegrass, and The Avett Brothers.
