Last night, Bruce Springsteen made a surprise appearance with Bleachers at Asbury Park, NJ’s Summer Stage at The Stone Pony. The New Jersey hero, who has been closely associated with The Stone Pony throughout his storied career, came on stage during Bleachers’ set to help on a cover of Tom Waits’ famed “Jersey Girl,” which he began covering 1981 and most recently played in Asbury Park in 2024 during the Sea.Hear.Now Festival. The Boss then remained on stage as Jack Antonoff and his band moved into “Chinatown,” a track of 2020’s Take the Sadness Out of Saturday Night that he contributed to.

The first-ever Ionia Freak Fair took place on Friday and Saturday at the Ionia Fairgrounds in Ionia, MI. The epic weekend curated by Billy Strings who grew up in the area. In addition to Strings and his band, the roster of performers included Greensky Bluegrass, Sierra Hull, Leftover Salmon, Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper, Lindsay Lou and Full Cord.

Disco Biscuits have added a pair of late-night shows to their fall tour. The Philadelphia-bred act will appear at Atlantic City, NJ’s The Tropicana Showroom on Friday, October 2 and Saturday, October 3. The gigs will kick off after Phish play nearby at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall.

On Thursday, John Mayer played an intimate show at Amagansett, NY’s Stephen Talkhouse. The gig, a celebrity-filled SiriusXM event, was the guitarist’s first full US date of the year and featured the ace band of drummer Aaron Sterling, percussionist Lenny Castro, bassist Sean Hurley, guitarists Isaiah Sharkey and David Ryan Harris, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes, and vocalists Tiffany Palmer and Carlos Ricketts. Ahead of Mayer’s performance, he spoke with SiriusXM host and Bravo personality Andy Cohen on a range of topics, including the future of Dead & Company.

Rush have added four dates to their high-profile 50 Something tour. The recently reactivated group will now also perform at Houston’s Toyota Center on October 1, St. Louis’s Enterprise Center on October 21, Cincinnati, OH’s Heritage Bank Center on October 23 and Pittsburgh, PA’s PPG Paints Arena on November 15.

Melvin Seals & JGB have confirmed their New Year’s plans. The group, which grew out of the Jerry Garcia Band following the Grateful Dead guitarist’s passing in 1995, will perform at Ardmore, PA’s Ardmore Music Hall on December 30 and 31.
