Greensky Bluegrass Tap Guests at Annapolis Baygrass Music Festival

Globally celebrated guitarist Carlos Santana, who initially turned heads with his seminal Woodstock performance, has announced the latest extension of his Las Vegas residency. Dubbed “An Intimate Evening with Santana: Greatest Hits Live,” and presented by SiriusXM, the new concert series will run through May 2026, broadening the artist's stay at the House of Blues inside Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

“When we started, I joked that our goal was to see a Wolf in every bar,” Grateful Guitars founder Andy Logan says with a laugh, referencing the instrument that luthier Doug Irwin created for Jerry Garcia in the early ‘70s. “We’ve actually done a pretty decent job of getting a lot of them out there in a relatively short amount of time. In 2019 we started in earnest, but we were officially founded in 2021 as a 501(c)(3) and that’s when we launched.”

On Saturday evening, September 20, Greensky Bluegrass delivered their headlining sets during the Annapolis Baygrass Music Festival, held at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis, Md. Sticking to the collective spirit of the festival’s tradition, the band welcomed all three of the event’s Artists-At-Large, including frequent collaborator, Holly Bowling, who sat in during the entire two-frame delivery, and single song participants and added guests, Kyle Tuttle and Patrick Rainey.

The Newport Festivals Foundation has announced Christian McBride’s resignation as Artistic Director of the Newport Jazz Festival. McBride, the nine-time Grammy-winning bassist and composer, has served as the key voice in curation for the standard-bearing originator of all American musical festivals since 2015, when he was personally appointed by festival founder George Wein.

On Sept. 20, Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country returned to the stage in Ardmore, Pa. for their third and final performance at the Ardmore Music Hall. The Nashville axeman and his venerable band of Western trailblazers’ first weekend on their Horizons Fall Tour brought some of the best that their electrifying live shows can offer, and Saturday’s series finale was the finest yet. Tomorrow, The B-52s and Devo will join forces for Cosmic De-Evolution, their first-ever co-headline tour. For the landmark shared bills, the two legendary offbeat New Wave outfits will take their shared sensibility and singular sounds to 11 venues across the country from Sept. 24 to Nov. 2. Every performance in the series, which extends both groups’ concurrent farewell tours, will feature support from special guest and fellow ‘80s synth-rock outsider Lene Lovich.

Music Club, the premium live music experience offering intimate events that showcase secret performances from premier talent, is expanding its reach with the launch of its New York City venture. The expansion comes a year and a half after the successful start of the initial event concept, which began at The Revelry in Charlotte, N.C. The Big Apple edition will feature membership-only concerts at the Grand Ballroom in the Manhattan Center, and opens on October 3.
