Dave Matthews, Trey Anastasio and Chris Stapleton performed at the 51st annual New York Honors Gala at New York’s Cipriani 42nd Street last night. The evening benefited The T.J. Martell Foundation, a leading music industry foundation that provides funds for innovative cancer research, and ended up raising more than $3.2 million.

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 25th Annual Americana Honors & Awards this evening. Surviving original Heartbreakers Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench, Stan Lynch and Ron Blair will open the show with a special reunion performance; Chris Stapleton will fill in for the late Tom Petty. Latter-day Heartbreakers Steve Ferrone and Scott Thurston will also join for a final song.

Wilco have confirmed a pair of special hometown holiday shows. On December 4 and 5, the Windy City-based band will return to the Chicago Theatre for their semi-annual Wilco’s Winterlude event.
The 1976 leg of Rolling Thunder often gets overshadowed by the more mythologized 1975 run, but the performances captured here find Dylan in a rawer, more confrontational mode, fresh off the commercial peak of Desire and already pushing past it. This tour left a documented legacy, yet the vast majority of what actually happened night to night has remained unheard until now.

moe. have confirmed an intimate eight-show December run. Presented by Relix, moe. will play multi-night runs at three different small venues “where we can get nice and cozy.” So far, the group has confirmed stops at Woodstock, NY’s Bearsville Theater on December 11 and 12 and Chicago’s Garcia’s from December 18-20. They will also perform on December 14-16 at a yet-to-be-announced location.

Taper’s Choice has confirmed a series of December shows. The California-based, self-described “subversive jamband” will return to the Northeast for performances at Boston, MA’s Sinclair on December 10, New York’s Brooklyn Bowl on December 11 and Kingston, NY’s Tubby’s on December 12.

Matisyahu has confirmed his annual Festival of Lights Hannukah celebration. Though the Festival of Light has been one of Matisyahu’s signature offerings since his early days as a performer, he has focused on select markets in recent years. This year, he will expand the outing exponentially.

Nathaniel Rateliff, Stephen Stills, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, Black Sabbath’s Geezer Butler, State Radio, Anthrax’s Scott Ian and The Last Internationale have joined the lineup for the upcoming Power to the People event. Curated by Tom Morello, the “once in a lifetime day of peace, love, justice and music” will take place at Columbia, MD’s Merriweather Post Pavilion outside Washington, D.C., on Saturday, October 3. They round out a stacked lineup that already includes: Morello, Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews, Jack Black, Bruce Springsteen, Public Enemy, Joan Baez, Brittany Howard, Cypress Hill, Killer Mike, Dropkick Murphys, Serj Tankian, The Linda Lindas, Taylor Momsen, Matt Cameron and Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, among others.

A few months after issuing his eighth studio album, Little Wide Open, via Dead Oceans. Kevin Morby has released a new single, “PBJ.” The track was recorded by Morby and producer/National guitarist Aaron Dessner during the Little Wide Open sessions and finds The Slip/Barr Brothers’ Andrew Barr on drums, Dessner on bass and guitar, Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon on guitar, and Morby handling the rest of the guitar and vocals.
