Anticipation has been mounting for months for the second annual Unbroken Chain: A Celebration of the Life and Music of Phil Lesh, which will honor the late Grateful Dead bassist by continuing his legacy of birthday residencies at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, N.Y. In the spirit of Lesh’s beloved annual tradition and after a triumphant inaugural run last year, Grahame Lesh will connect with a sprawling and star-studded ensemble of his father’s former collaborators and devotees for four nights of music from March 12-15.

On Friday, March 6 an extraordinary assembly of musicians will gather at Carnegie Hall to honor the life and legacy of a remarkable artist. This singular figure is Zakir Hussain, the tabla maestro and cultural emissary whose work spanned genres and generations. Zakir Hussain Eternal: Celebrating 75 Years of Genius will pay tribute to the beloved Mumbai-born citizen of the globe, who passed away in December 2024.

Oceans Calling Festival has announced the full artist lineup for its 2026 event, returning to Ocean City, Md. this year for its fourth annual presentation. From Sept. 25-27, the scenic summer send-off will call an eclectic mix of alt-rock, jam, indie-pop, reggae and more to the Ocean City Boardwalk for a weekend of aughts nostalgia. Brought to life by a partnership with Rockville, Md.’s own roots-rock innovators O.A.R., this year’s festival will feature 40 acts, led by headliners Dave Matthews Band, Mumford & Sons and Twenty One Pilots.

On Tuesday, March 3, Tibet House US returned to New York’s Carnegie Hall to present its 39th Annual Benefit Concert. In the historic Stern Auditorium, the cultural advocacy organization observed the Tibetan Lunar New Year with a spiritual successor to the 617-year Tibetan tradition of Great Prayer Festivals, uniting an ensemble of high-profile performers spanning genres and generations to usher in the Year of the Fire Horse.

Released in May 1972 and recorded at Wally Heider Studios with the full Dead lineup (minus Pigpen), Ace captures Weir emerging as a songwriter and bandleader, partnering with lyricist John Perry Barlow to create songs like "Playing in the Band," "Cassidy," and "Mexicali Blues" that would become Dead standards for the next three decades. This 50th Anniversary remaster brings new clarity to performances that showcase Weir's rhythm guitar work and distinctive vocal style.

Wilco will hit the road this summer. After previously unloading the dates and locations for their intimate “An Evening with Wilco” run, slated for April and May, the band is looking further ahead and forecasting what’s to come when the temperature swells, and the sun shines past 8 p.m. The Chicago group’s initial appearance on the summer concert series will be Friday, June 12, in Grand Rapids, Mich., with the location to be determined.
