On Saturday night, the genre-blending, improvisational seekers, Goose, achieved a significant milestone by headlining and selling out at New York’s Madison Square Garden. The prestigious feat was a testament to their growth, having previously taken the stage in November 2024 at the SOULSHINE benefit concert, where they shared the stage with Robert Randolph, Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi and Dave Matthews.

On Saturday, June 28, Phish stepped into the spotlight in Austin, Texas, to conclude their two-night engagement at the Moody Center. In the course of the foundational jamband’s first appearances within city limits since 2010, the Live Music Capital of the World certainly earned its nickname as the quartet tore through Texas-size treatments of longtime fan favorites.

This special release holds profound significance as it features the final performance of founding member Gary Rossington, who passed the following year. Special guests on the album include Jelly Roll, Marcus King, John Osborne, Brent Smith (Shinedown), and Donnie Van Zant (Van Zant & .38 Special).

From July 31 to Aug. 2, the San Francisco Giants and Relix will join forces to present Heart of Town, a three-night psychedelic, multi-sensory concert series celebrating the music and legacy of the Grateful Dead in their original San Francisco stomping grounds. On Friday, June 27, Willie Nelson’s traveling Outlaw Music Festival rolled into Memphis, Tenn., for a staging at Radians Amphitheater. Following sets from Tami Neilson, Trampled by Turtles and Nathaniel Rateliff, and preceding the show-closing finale of the Shotgun Willie and his Family band, Bob Dylan stepped onstage for another set of his favorite songs from his own catalog and his influences.

On June 28, Dave Matthews Band pulled into The Windy City for the latest performance in their expansive summer tour. Onstage at Chicago’s Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island, the celebrated jam and roots rock ensemble continued the thrills and surprises of their series so far–including sit-ins from Jason Crosby and Kebbi Williams and debut covers of “God Only Knows” and “Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)”–with another top-tier performance featuring a long-awaited bust-out.

Joy Clark’s debut album, Tell It to the Wind, spotlights many of the influences the Louisiana bred singer-songwriter/guitarist absorbed while growing up as the youngest of five children in a tight-knit, deeply religious family. She first experienced the power of live music at her parents’ church, where she sang, but as a young, queer woman, she didn’t always feel like she fit in.
