NPR’s Tiny Desk concerts are regarded for the physically tight space in which they are recorded, as well as the intimate sonic result for listeners. Needless to say, during Don Was and the Pan-Detroit Ensemble’s participation in the live performance series, the band filled the bookshelf-lined, poster-positive place with bodies, song, and spirit catapulted by the group’s delivery of the Grateful Dead’s “The Music Never Stopped,” a modified version of Hank Williams’ “I Ain’t Got Nothing But Time,” and more.

Grand Point North 2026 is on sale now, featuring performances by Grace Potter, Portugal. The Man, Dawes, The Devil Makes Three, Trampled By Turtles, Dark Star Orchestra, and more. Join us September 18-20 for a fun filled weekend on the Burlington Waterfront in Vermont!

Last night, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band returned to Brooklyn, N.Y.’s Barclays Center on their politically charged Land of Hope & Dreams American Tour. It was the fourth of Springsteen’s five New York Metro Area appearances and his first stop in the Brooklyn arena since 2023. Though known to change his setlists from night to night, Springsteen has stuck to a set songlist throughout the run, using his experience staging a show on Broadway a few years ago to create a narrative arc that mixes material from throughout his catalog into a pointed commentary on the state of American politics and a critique of the Trump administration. (Promotional material for the run offered a direct attack, declaring “no kings.”)
