When the Grateful Dead assembled at Magoo’s Pizza Parlor in May 1965 under the name The Warlocks, few could have predicted that their origins would take them to sold-out stadiums, let alone endure after the passing of core members. And yet, 60 years later, the band remains a symbol of autonomy with vast gravitational pull for seekers of community through songs and experience. In recognition of the group’s significance, the sixth annual Grateful Studies Association Conference will convene from February 25-28, 2026, in Albuquerque, N.M.

Celebrated for his five-decade and continued stint with the Eagles, guitarist and songwriter Joe Walsh has shared details about his annual charitable concert, VetsAid, and extended viewership opportunities beyond the in-person experience by streaming the event on Veep. The occasion is scheduled for Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kan. It features a staggering lineup of artists participating and raising funds for the 501(c) (3) non-profit veterans organization.

On the end of a long year on the Cruising Altitude Tour, Umphrey’s McGee have unveiled plans to take flight again with their first tour itinerary for 2026. From Jan. 13 to Feb. 15, the jam giants will lift off for 22 dates across the Mountain states, Midwest and East Coast with the Sky’s The Limit Tour.

The Barr Brothers have announced a new stretch of North American tour dates for 2026. From Feb. 11 to May 23, the indie-folk duo of Andrew and Brad Barr will cross the U.S. and Canada with a total of 34 performances, featuring support from Anna Tivel, Land of Talk and Benjamin Lazar Davis. The upcoming series will celebrate the release of their fourth studio album, Let It Hiss, which arrived on Oct. 17 via Secret City Records.

Béla Fleck & The Flecktones have shared their previously unreleased holiday medley, “The First Noel / Joy to the World.” The track was rediscovered while the namesake was exploring the Jingle All the Way album archives, as the group intends to reissue their beloved holiday songs on limited edition vinyl on November 21. The initial preview and first listen come from a 2008 recording session and will be a feature of the imminent release.
