TREASURES FROM THE GOLDEN ROAD Julien's Auctions Live at The Box SF, San Francisco on April 22, 2026

It started on the road, and now it's coming home.

On April 22, Julien's Auctions will offer more than 300 lots of Grateful Dead artifacts, instruments, and memorabilia sourced directly from the people who lived it: "Big" Steve Parish, crew chief and Jerry Garcia Band manager; longtime family associate Strider; and Jerry's own daughter, Trixie Garcia.

The auction takes place live at The Box SF in San Francisco — and online at juliensauctions.com — starting April 22 at 10:00 a.m. PST.

This isn't a nostalgia trip. This is the collection.

Some of the items featured in this historic auction include:

Jerry Garcia, 1939 Gibson Super 400N Archtop Guitar
Studio- and video-played by Jerry alongside David Grisman on Not For Kids Only and Been All Around This World, and coming directly from Trixie Garcia. One of the most historically significant instruments ever to come to market from the Garcia estate.
1988 Alvarez Yairi DY 74CJG Custom — #0001
Custom-built for Jerry, serial number one. Featured in a 1990 Alvarez ad and still marked "JG #6" in his own handwriting on the case. A direct precursor to the GY-1 signature model.
Grateful Dead, McIntosh 2300 Power Amp w/ "Ketchup" Case
A Wall of Sound relic in its legendary red road case, used primarily for low frequencies and covered in Dead stickers and tour wear.
Jerry Garcia, Musitronics Mu-Tron III Effect Pedal
Jerry's oldest Mu-Tron: the pedal responsible for the iconic tones on "Estimated Prophet," "Shakedown Street," and beyond. Worn, rusty, and battle-scarred. Exactly how you'd want it.
Jerry Garcia Band, Jerry's Working Songbook
A c. 1990s binder of Jerry's own lead sheets and lyrics for the JGB repertoire. A direct window into how he built a set.
Jerry Garcia, Original Airbrush Artwork & Pastel Sketchbook
Two intimate glimpses into Jerry's visual practice, a blurry-faced airbrush piece from his mid-'80s period (described in depth by Mountain Girl), and a spiral sketchbook with six of his colorful pastel drawings. Trixie remembers a house full of these.

Also up for bid:
Jerry Garcia,1975 Mesa Boogie Mark I Combo Amplifier (stage-used from his '75–'76 live rig)
Jerry Garcia,1988 Dobro Model 64 "Tree of Life" Resonator (from Trixie Garcia)

And 280+ more lots.
