💀🎶🎉 JERRY WEEK WITH POOLSIDE PRESENTS

The Great American Music Hall August 2, 7 + 8

Poolside Presents is thrilled to present 3 very special upcoming shows at the legendary Great American Music Hall in San Francisco in celebration of Jerry Week 2026!

Sunday, August 2 sees the return of Melvin Seals and JGB with Special Guest saxophonist and New Orleans legend Donald Harrison Jr., and will be the collaboration’s first West Coast show. The following weekend is an all-out Grateful Dead celebration featuring the 2-night All-Star AXIAL TILT, with each night being filled with 3 SETS AND FIVE HOURS of live Grateful Dead music performed by some of the most well-known members of the extended Grateful Dead Family.

Melvin Seals has been a powerful presence in the music industry for over 30 years, and is most revered for his powerful, high-spirited Hammond B-3 organ and keyboards in the Jerry Garcia Band. Melvin spun his B-3 magic with the Jerry Garcia Band for 18 years, and in doing so, helped pioneer and define what has now become "Jam Band Music". From blues to funk to rock to jazz, Melvin Seals & JGB bring an intuitive, expressive style, soul, spontaneity and remarkable chops to the table. The band includes John Kadlecik on lead guitar and vocal duties, John-Paul McLean's savory bass, Jeremy Hoenig on the drums and, of course, a heapin’ helpin’ of the Wizard’s magic on Hammond B-3 Organ and keyboards. Given his rock-gospel-soul-rhythm and blues touch with his funky style of playing, no wonder Jerry nicknamed Melvin Seals “Master of the Universe”.

This very special intimate show will also feature Special Guest and New Orleans legend Donald Harrison Jr. (The Headhunters). Donald tore up the stage when he played with Melvin and JGB for the first time in New Orleans last month, and is as excited for another great jam session as are Melvin, John, JP, and Jeremy.

Melvin continues to treat music lovers to his unique brand of melodic flavor with JGB. Come see and hear for yourself at the band’s triumphant return to the wonderfully intimate and great-sounding Great American Music Hall in celebration of Jerry Weekend!

A Grateful Dead Celebration in San Francisco!

The Grateful Dead is a true American original. Born in San Francisco in 1965 and still a powerhouse of musical and societal influence 60 years later, the Grateful Dead represents the most successful example yet of a band blending rock, jazz and blues in a live format accessible to -- and loved by -- millions.

The band's now-legendary multi-hour forays into musical exploration via in-the-moment improvisation became a beacon for millions of Deadheads who traveled millions of miles to spend thousands of nights with the Grateful Dead, experiencing their one-of-a-kind sharing of energy between band and audience.

We believe it fitting to celebrate this truly unique American original in much the same way we celebrate some of this country's most beloved jazz artists, and to share this extra-special celebration with folks who appreciate the Grateful Dead's enduring musical legacy as much as they do those of the greatest musical artists San Francisco -- and the rest of the country -- has ever produced.

Happening at one of the most beautiful, historic and intimate venues in San Francisco (or anywhere) and featuring some of the most well-known names in the extended Grateful Dead family, AXIAL TILT is an all-out party in honor of the music, life, harmony, and spirit of togetherness inspired and personified by America's own Grateful Dead.
