The songs of the Grateful Dead will take over the Life with John Mayer airwaves on a weekly format, at 9 p.m. E.T./6 p.m. P.T. on SiriusXM channel 4. Mayer shared a note on social media announcing the new Sunday-specific two-hour program, which will give the host space to share his favorite recordings from the original band and his Dead & Company days, along with pertinent commentary that suits the flow of music. The new offering comes as Mayer sorts with his own feelings and thoughts following the death of his Grateful Dead mentor and friend, Bobby Weir.

The 10th annual Love Rocks NYC benefit concert, which supports God’s Love We Deliver, the charity that gives healthy, medically tailored meals to those in need, returned to the Beacon Theatre in New York City on Thursday, March 5. On March 24, the Nashville Predators will face off against the San Jose Sharks. The NHL match-up will feature a theme titled Jerry Garcia Night, with songs, spirits, and artist-related merchandise that celebrate the four-fingered pickers’ enduring legacy. The event will be held at Music City’s Bridgestone Arena. A portion of each ticket sale will be donated to the Rex Foundation.

The editor responsible for the entry was Maria Leach, a folklore scholar best known for her monumental Dictionary of Folklore. She consulted Gerould's book to write the entry. We are pleased to offer the correct 1956 edition, confirmed by consulting the actual dictionary, which differs from the version famously depicted in The Book of the Deadheads.

The longtime collaborators will contribute the contents of their February 10, 1997, concert at Branscomb Memorial Auditorium [Lakeland, Fla.] shortly, providing fans and followers the ultimate chance to relive or get acquainted with the contents of their pre-aughts kinship.
