Radiohead returned to Madrid’s Movistar Arena last night for the second night of their long–awaited reunion tour. The legendary avant-rock quintet promised a different show for all 20 dates on their first tour in seven years, and Tuesday’s hit-packed kickoff charged high expectations for their follow-up; on Wednesday, the band set a high bar for the run ahead by swapping out more than half of their setlist, including two tracks they hadn’t played in 16 years.

Bruce and the E Street Band together again, writing, singing and playing great and memorable music. Lead single "Radio Nowhere" begins with '80's pop-rock rhythms, and then moves into a rockin' beat reminiscent of Bruce back in the "Born in the USA" period. King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are on the road again, trekking across Europe with the penultimate leg of their 2025 World Tour. After returning from a three-month break with a surprise rave show in their Melbourne stomping grounds, and three more in England from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2, the genre-obliterating psych ensemble turned to a new run of orchestral shows this week, enlisting local symphonies to bolster grandiose renditions of new and old favorites alike.

Bassist Oteil Burbridge has extended an invitation to join him on New Year’s Eve in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The musician known for his late-90s to mid-2010s tenure as a full-time member of the Allman Brothers Band and current stint with the modern celebration of the Grateful Dead’s music, in Dead and Company, will take a group of choice player to The Parker on Dec. 31, for a night of songs to enter the New Year.

Patti Smith appeared at New York’s Town Hall last night for a special evening of words and music introducing her new memoir, Bread of Angels. On a day that marked a historic mayoral election, the birthday of her late friend Robert Mapplethorpe and the anniversary of the passing of her husband Fred “Sonic” Smith, the iconic artist and author made strong use of the charged atmosphere with a celebration of her memories.

The Mimi Fishman Foundation has added another lot to its online charity auction, benefiting Phish’s established give-back, through WaterWheel, which has driven positive change in the community since 1997. As a focused offering, tickets for the band’s sold-out and imminent New Year’s Eve run at Madison Square Garden are available, limited to two reserved seats per night of the residency, Dec. 28-31.

Last night, Nov. 5, Dogs in a Pile blew into the Windy City to perform at the newly opened Garcia’s venue. The Wednesday evening appearance represented the first in a series of six performances scheduled to take place at the intimate 350-capacity room this month, Nov. 6, 12-13, and 19-20. During the first night of the New Jersey band’s residency, they performed apt covers, including a take on the Grateful Dead’s early ‘70s fan favorite and another from the era, Steely Dan’s “Green Earrings.”
