On Friday night Umphrey’s McGee will launch their annual UMBowl event at the Pabst Theater in Milwaukee. UMBowl XII will extend over two evenings, from Friday into Saturday with plenty of audience-fueled improvisatory moments. Ahead of these shows, the group performed a stretch of dates that began in Colorado, then continued in the South, winding up over the weekend with two gigs at Brooklyn Bowl Nashville.

Jason Isbell Reunites with Drive-By Truckers for First Full Set Since 2007 to Perform Decoration Day in Its Entirety
Drive-By Truckers’ 2003 album Decoration Day was the first to feature Jason Isbell. He had joined the band two years earlier, following the release of Southern Rock Opera. Following Decoration Day, Isbell would contribute to two additional DBT recordings: The Dirty South (2004) and A Blessing and a Curse (2006). Then, in 2007, Isbell parted ways with the band and embarked on a solo career. On Saturday Isbell reunited with Patterson Hood, Mike Cooley and the Truckers at Shoals Fest in Florence, AL.
