Trey Anastasio pulled into Des Moines, Iowa last night for another performance on his November run with the Trey Anastasio Band. The first week of this highly anticipated return to the road with his namesake ensemble has been a rare treat for attendees in the Midwest – Iowans caught their first local show from any Phish-related project in 25 years – and fans watching on from afar. After consistent debuts and rarities on the tour’s first three nights, Tuesday’s show brought even more first-time live treatments.

Blue Ox Music Festival has officially announced the initial artist lineup for its 2026 staging. Returning to Eau Claire, Wis.’s scenic The Pines Music Park from June 25-27, the 12th annual staging of the essential Midwestern festival will once again welcome the leading redional and national acts from the worlds of bluegrass, country, Southern rock, jam, indie-rock and more. With 29 acts signed on already, next year’s tight-knit community event will be championed by headliners like Charley Crockett and the Marcus King Band and longtime host band Pert Near Sandstone, who will perform twice.

The Jazz Mandolin Project will return in 2026 for its first tour in two decades. From Feb. 4-7, the beloved Burlington, Vt.-based outfit formed by genre-bending string master Jamie Masefield will set out on its first run of dates since the summer of 2004, embracing a new improvisational chemistry with bassist Danton Boller, trumpeter/multi-instrumentalist Michael “Mad Dog” Mavridoglou and Phish drummer Jon Fishman.

On Friday, November 21, members of the String Cheese Incident will participate in a charity concert, dubbed Benefit for the Village. The event will offer five hours of music, along with a silent auction to raise funds for those affected by the Caribou Village Shopping Center Fire in Nederland, Colo., a central hub for the local community that suffered complete structural loss of more than 15 businesses in a blaze that happened last month.
