This Is Lorelei | Live From Relix

Nate Amos released his latest This Is Lorelei record, and first for Matador, on September 11. Dubbed The Singer in My Band, the album aims to take “the building blocks of the Great American Songbook and twist those elemental pieces into new shapes, at once both strangely familiar and endearingly offbeat in Amos’ signature style.” On September 3, a week before his album release and days before his feature in The New Yorker, This Is Lorelei visited the Relix Office and performed the opening track from The Singer in My Band, "I Will Eat My Heart In The Morning Light." He followed with "Billy Came Back," another song from his latest album. The session then concluded with a fan (and office) favorite, "Dancing In The Club".

Rayland Baxter | Live From Relix

With the recent announcement of his highly anticipated new album True Violet, arriving October 23rd, Rayland Baxter stopped by the Relix office to perform a selection of unreleased songs - some being played outside of the studio for the very first time. Among them is “Better Man,” the album’s recently released lead single, performed here exclusively for Relix. Baxter’s first album in more than four years, True Violet is an 11-song collection that captures the slow, steady metamorphosis of becoming someone new. Co-produced by Nick Waterhouse and Paul Butler, the album was written during a years-long period of solitude in the hills of Tennessee, where Baxter penned more than 70 songs.
