Neil Young’s connection with his new backing band the Chrome Hearts has clearly been a shot in the arm for the six-decade rock icon. In 2025, the legendary singer-songwriter has exhibited a fiery passion even beyond his reputation, resulting in a surge of bold new material, titanic treatments of signature tracks and several surprising live returns to deep cuts from his expansive catalog.

On September 23, 2018, Oteil Burbridge brought a version of his solo group to the Borderland Festival in East Aurora, NY. The bassist’s band for this appearance included guitarists John Kadlecik and Scott Metzger, drummer John Kimock and Oteil’s older brother Kofi on keyboards and flute. The five musicians delivered a set of Jerry Garcia/Grateful Dead-themed material that was memorable in the moment and carries additional resonance because Kofi Burbridge passed away five months later.
In February of 2021, The Relix Sessions kicked off its limited edition vinyl series with Circles Around The Sun’s standout performance from Relix’s New York City office on 2/28/20. Ever since, we’ve released 17 titles, remixing and remastering lightning-in-a-bottle performances from Billy Strings, Goose, Greensky Bluegrass, Maggie Rose, and more for hardcore fans and vinyl enthusiasts.

Yesterday, July 1, the Warren Haynes Band touched down in London to kick off their European Tour. For their first summer staging on the other side of the pond, the storied Southern rock quartet helmed by the Allman Brothers Band torch-bearer took the stage at Islington Assembly Hall and cycled through a litany of setlist staples, featuring a sit-in from some local talent.

Six decades after their music shook the foundations of popular music, the story of The Zombies has finally come to theaters worldwide in Hung Up on a Dream: The Zombies Documentary. Directed by Robert Schwartzman, the landmark film captures the rise and reign of the massively influential outfit that merged rock, pop, rhythm & blues and psychedelia into a sound that took the world by storm and recordings consistently recognized among the greatest of all time. Its release marks the first-ever feature treatment of the band’s history and legacy, a long-overdue honor rectified by the depth of the filmmakers’ exploration and devotion to their subject.

From June 26-28, Blue Ox Music Festival returned to Eau Claire, Wis.’s scenic The Pines Music Park for its 11th annual staging. Through its three-day run, the beloved Midwestern festival welcomed a dazzling lineup of stars from the worlds of bluegrass, country, Southern rock, jam, alternative and more for a weekend packed with top-tier performances and surprises.
