For the first time after a five-year lapse, Paul McCartney is preparing for the release of his new solo album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane. Due on May 29 via MPL/ Capitol Records, the forthcoming album recalls the musician’s rearing, the parts of the past that informed the future success of the Fab Four, while relying on intimacy as a stimulant: the backdrop of beginning, written with openness and the quality of nearly 70 years of experience. As a preview, McCartney has unveiled the album’s first single, “Days We Left Behind.”

My Morning Jacket have booked a seven-night residency at The Fillmore in San Francisco. The Americana vanguard’s special series at the legendary rock hall, set for October 3-4, 6-7, 9-11, will hold to the no repeats standard introduced for their 2024 Fillmore residency, now stretched to three weekends. Each evening’s setlist will be inspired by a different color of the rainbow, and attendees are encouraged to dress accordingly.

Before there was a poster, there was a performance. The Fillmore was not merely a concert venue — it was the beating heart of a cultural revolution, a room where the boundaries between artist and audience, between blues and psychedelia, between commerce and counterculture, dissolved night after night into something entirely new. This auction traces that history through the paper artifacts that announced it: original posters, handbills, and tickets spanning from April 1966, when the first shows were barely being documented, through the early 1970s, when the era was already beginning to pass into legend.
