Pigeons Playing Ping Pong took the stage at Port Chester, N.Y.’s Capitol Theatre over the weekend for a very special two-night holiday program dubbed “The Festival of Melting Lights.” On the final nights of Hanukkah, at the storied jam haven, the jam-funk outfit celebrated the holiday season with four action-packed sets featuring essentials, rarities and resurrected covers, amplified by some high-profile guest spots.

More tickets for the Philadelphia Flyers’ Phish Night have been released as a result of “incredible” high fan demand. The special event will take place on Thursday, January 8, 2026, when the City of Brotherly Love’s home team hits the ice and faces off against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Over the weekend, The Allman Betts Band concluded its ninth annual Family Revival Tour by turning in two final stops: Saturday, Dec. 20, at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, and Sunday, Dec. 21, at San Francisco’s The Fillmore. Both concerts incorporated seismic moments that stirred homages to the bandleaders’ famous fathers, Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts, through fitting song selections and high-profile guests who helped scorch each performance with a sense of dignity for the originals.

The War on Drugs resurrected a long-running holiday tradition over the weekend with the 2025 edition of their A Drugcember To Remember benefit concerts. Onstage at their hometown haunt of Johnny Brenda’s in Philadelphia, the venerated indie-rock outfit served up three shows for packed houses, with all proceeds benefiting The Fund for the School District of Philadelphia. All three two-set shows featured high-profile special guests and a fistful of rare covers.

Last Thursday, December 18, Gov’t Mule bassist Kevin Scott hosted the annual Allstar Holiday Revival concert at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta. The event raised $20,000 in donations, which will be distributed to the event’s partner organizations, Backline, The Georgia Music Foundation, and Vermin Sanctuary.

George Porter, Jr. has confirmed the return of his beloved annual birthday show. Staging as always in his New Orleans hometown, the legendary funk forerunner will return to the hallowed Maple Leaf Bar to celebrate his 78th birthday on December 25 at pm. Porter, whose birthday falls on Dec. 26, will be accompanied by his tried and true backing trio of the Runnin’ Pardners, featuring Mike Lemmler on keys, Terrence Houston on drums and Chris Adkins on guitar.
