RECAP
Bob Dylan closed out his U.S. summer tour on Saturday night in Nashville. Over the course of the 34 shows (the Raleigh gig was canceled due to weather), Dylan cycled in a variety of guitarists. Bob Britt and Doug Lancio left the band in June, with Joel Paterson now appearing on most dates, while Julian Lage and Jad Tariq have shared the role as well.
Photographer Gene Anthony was there for the birth of all of it, the 1967 Human Be-In, the Summer of Love, the Haight-Ashbury streets where the Grateful Dead were still the neighborhood band before they were a national phenomenon. This 1967 color lithograph captures Garcia at that exact hinge in history, when the whole culture was crystallizing around a few blocks of San Francisco. Signed by the artist and mounted on archival board, it is the undisputed centerpiece of this sale: a photograph turned artwork from the instant a movement found its face.

Bill Kreutzmann was only 18 years old when Jerry Garcia invited him to join some fellow Bay Area players in a jam session that would culminate in the creation of a new group: The Warlocks. These players would later rename themselves the Grateful Dead and begin a career that would span four decades. Following the anniversary of Garcia’s birth, Kreutzmann shared a few moments to reminisce about Jerry.
The Rolling Stones don't do anything small, and their return to the studio after more than a decade deserved something bigger than a standard release. Foreign Tongues is that album, and the Marvel Collector's Series is the artifact that goes with it, five limited-edition vinyl variants built around Spider-Man, Captain America, Wolverine, Thor, and Hulk, each one pressed on colored vinyl with Marvel-commissioned artwork and a custom comic book insert designed to match its edition. Five characters, five editions, one album, and the kind of crossover that doesn't come around often.
