On Wednesday, July 23, Phish played their second and final show at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, N.Y., the historic tennis venue nestled at the edge of New York City’s urban sprawl. The outdoor performance marked a significant shift for the band, which had exclusively played Madison Square Garden in New York over the past decade until making their Forest Hills debut the night before.

Last night, July 23, Dave Matthews Band took the stage in Gilford, N.H., to wrap the penultimate stop on their summer tour’s East Coast leg. After making history and honoring the late Ozzy Osbourne with a solo acoustic debut cover of Black Sabbath’s “Changes” on Tuesday night, the septet kept the energy high for their follow-up, which featured energetic treatments of a litany of setlist staples. The evening’s highlight came towards the end of the show, when Matthews and his ensemble welcomed a sit-in from longtime collaborator Joe Lawlor.

50 years after issuing their triumphant sixth studio album, Led Zeppelin have unveiled their plans to celebrate a half-century of Physical Graffiti with a new Live EP. Arriving on Sept. 16 via Rhino alongside a deluxe repressing of the immortal 1975 record, the four-track collection features concert recordings of “In My Time of Dying,” “Trampled Under Foot,” “Sick Again” and “Kashmir,” capturing the on-stage energy of the creatively invigorated and pivotal era.

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass has unveiled the official artist lineup for its 2025 event. From Oct. 3 to Oct. 5, San Francisco’s premier roots music festival will return to Golden Gate Park for its 25th annual staging with a top-tier lineup of performers rooted in the tradition of bluegrass and reaching out to vast array of genres and styles. The first of several lineup announcements features ten acts, led by iconic Americana singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams.

Brandon “TAZ” Niederauer has unveiled his debut original single, “Say Something,” via Greater Than Distribution. Following graduation from Yale University, the New York native teamed up with Theron “Neff-U” Feemster, a Grammy Award-winning producer known for his work with artists such as Justin Bieber, Doja Cat, Kendrick Lamar, Train, and others. The first-time release from the 22-year-old guitar prodigy arrives as an added complement to the season, a summertime single, tinged with elements of rock, pop, and R&B.

Last September, Hurricane Helene wrought destruction throughout western North Carolina, as the Category 4 storm ripped across the landscape with wind speeds of up to 140 mph and more than 14 inches of rainfall. Asheville, N.C., the historic mountain community and longtime haven for live music and the jam scene, was left isolated by hundreds of closed roads, preventing incoming aid and repairs to critical infrastructure. “We have biblical devastation through the county,” said Ryan Cole, Assistant Director of Buncombe County Emergency Services. “We’ve had biblical flooding here.” Early estimated damages in the region totaled between $15 billion and $100 billion.
