On April 18, Phish returned to Sphere to cap their initial three-night stretch at the state-of-the-art Sin City location. Last night’s performance represented the band’s week one close-out after commencing their current residency on Thursday, April 16. Attuned to past performances at this particular location, the Vermont foursome’s Saturday stage time conjured rampant improvisation paired with exceptionally hypnotic visuals. The band’s latest concert included a nod to another famous Sphere performer who was in the crowd, as well as Gamehendge references.

For the first time in eight years, Widespread Panic returned to Birmingham, Ala. The Southern-bred band’s much-anticipated regional comeback arrived in a two-fold at the Coca-Cola Amphitheater, beginning on Friday, April 17, with a relatively standard delivery, before the ensuing evening, Saturday, April 18, presented a bag of surprises. The group’s later performance was delayed by the weather, which stalled the show’s first half—for the throng that stuck around the night yielded a deep cut: the first cover of War’s “Low Rider” since Nov. 4, 2009.

This past weekend, Billy Strings took his Spring Tour to the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Va. The first of two consecutive appearances began on Friday, April 17, with the bandleader’s choice to position night one as a singular nonstop set, made up of 29 moves that ranged from bust-outs to first-time originals and special solo moments. Saturday’s return brought back the two-set format and a debut cover, but no encore. Rather, while attempting a skateboard trick before the onset of the concert finale, the bandleader broke his leg. An announcement regarding the injury arrived on social media today, confirming that the remaining Spring Tour will be postponed.
If you remember picking seeds out of shake on a frisbee before rolling one up in the parking lot, this one's for you. A love letter to the OGs who were there before dispensaries, before pre-rolls, before weed went corporate. Back when your stash came with a little extra work and a lot more stories. The kind of shirt that earns its creases at shows, on road trips, and deep in the rotation. The seeds might be gone, but the spirit's still lit.

Monmouth University’s Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music presented its fourth annual American Music Honors on Saturday, and the latest staging of the annual musical celebration was a star-studded and collaborative affair. Springsteen himself took the stage as a presenter and performer throughout the show as the Center established from his personal archives recognized the achievements and influence of Dionne Warwick, The Doors, The Band, Dr. Dre, The E Street Band and Patti Smith. Musical interludes brought appearances from several surprise guests, who joined Steven Van Zandt’s Disciples of Soul for tributes to the honorees.

Expectations were high going into Goose’s Spring Tour, and the ascendant indie-jam quartet’s return to the stage has exceeded them so far. Just over a week into the run that will set the tone for another long year on the road, following 2025’s non-stop touring and two celebrated studio albums, the band have kept the spark alive with nightly variations on their core catalog. With their shows in the Sunshine State over the weekend, the band mixed it up by returning to some rare covers from an eclectic range of influences.
