Todd Snider, the prolific musician, master storyteller and Americana journeyman, passed away in Nashville on Friday, Nov. 14. Through a lifetime of travels and three decades of recordings, the singer-songwriter earned recognition as a great satirist tapped into the unsung minutiae of the human experience, extolled with his signature brand of wit and candor. He was 59.

On Friday, November 14, Billy Strings arrived at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., for the first of two Fall Tour concerts at the indoor arena. Night one glinted with a sense of psychedelia, a demonstrated willingness to push and to produce compositions beyond the ordinary, entice the audience, and keep them on their feet till night two. While the first performance sparked a sense of playfulness, Saturday’s follow-up came from the heart and started with a debut in honor of singer-songwriter Todd Snider, who passed away at age 59.

Trey Anastasio took the stage at Denver’s Mission Ballroom on Saturday, Nov. 15, to follow up on the kickoff performance for his highly anticipated November tour with the Trey Anastasio Band. The Phish frontman and his storied backing sextet began their first tour since 2023 on Friday night by bolstering expansive reinventions of classic tracks with two live debuts, “Real You” and “Mindless Mood.” On night two, they boosted expectations even further with another previously unheard song.

Earlier this month, Tedeschi Trucks Band renewed its plan to perform a series of concerts at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. The band initially rolled out a schedule with Big Apple appearances on March 10, 11, 13, 14, 20, and 21, before returning to the books and carving out additional time on the historic Upper West Side stage. Today, they added four new dates, Wednesday, March 18, and a final sequence of nightly performances on March 26, 27, and 28.

Warren Haynes has announced a series of live performances, including 11 solo concerts that will each feature two stripped-down sets of songs that lean into his solo recordings, ranging from hits and rarities to material that influenced his career, including pieces from his Allman Brothers Band days. On the heels of his solo jaunt, the Warren Haynes Band will follow up with four new appearances after his Suwannee Amp Jam slots in Live Oak, Fla., on Feb. 27.

Joe Russo’s Almost Dead took their talents to The Anthem in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, November 15. During their performance in the nation’s capital, the ensemble produced a potent statement by way of Woody Guthrie’s “All You Fascists,” which represented a first-time play for this collective, who covered the track that Billy Bragg/Wilco-adapted for Mermaid Avenue, Vol. II. The concert’s debut came four moves into the show, after a spacious “Loser,” Allman Brothers Band’s “Revival,” and Jerry Garcia’s “Cats Under the Stars.”

Sarah Elaz’s journey to becoming one of the Brooklyn, N.Y. jam-scene’s most dynamic new bassists began not on stage but in the crowd. “I was a fan first,” she explains, having seen over 150 Phish shows since 2010. A professional dancer who holds a degree in that art form, Elaz possessed a deep knowledge of rhythm and composition, and when the pandemic hit, she picked up a bass and began to add melody and harmony to her musical tool kit. After the previously announced locations and an initial guest list were announced in August, the hosts behind the concerts, Devon Allman and Duane Betts, returned with 13 new performers, who will join them on the road next month.
