See Free Music in Colorado this Summer

Have you ever had an idea to do something that just won’t go away, the kind of idea that comes back year after year, and then one day you decide to do something about it?

Geoff Hanson, producer of the movie “Scrapple,” the Widespread Panic documentary “The Earth Will Swallow You” and currently the Arts and Entertainment writer for the Aspen Daily News, had one of those ideas.

“Summer after summer I would drive around Colorado and dip into a coffee shop in some town and see a poster for their local concert series,” Hanson said. “Everytime I’d think, ‘Someone needs to put a website together that lists all the concert series across the state, there’s too many to keep up with. After years of having the same thought, I finally decided I was the guy to do it.

The site lists over 100 free summer music series all over the state of Colorado, with over 1200 unique shows and over 600 bands, the site offers the most comprehensive list of free shows in the Centennial State.

The site has a calendar function where you can bookmark the shows you are interested in and manually add those on your radar in addition to adding paid shows manually so you can keep up with all the music you’re interested in on one calendar.

The site also features free shows in bars and venues and offers them the opportunity to list their shows for free.
