From Friday to Sunday, Phish delivered an exhilarating three-show kickoff series for their Summer Tour at Manchester, N.H.’s SNHU Arena, which culminated in a full-set “Tweezer” medley, weaving in and out of the A Picture of Nectar classic for more than 40 minutes in total. Last night, the legendary jam innovators followed that momentum into a follow-up at Pittsburgh’s Petersen Events Center, which went above and beyond expectations with a slew of bust-outs and a rendition of “What’s Going Through Your Mind” that stretched out with historic and mind-bending depths of improvisation.

“We’re All Archivists”: David Lemieux on the Community Spirit that Sparked the New Grateful Dead Box Enjoying The Ride
“This box set is conceptual,” observes Grateful Dead archivist and legacy manager David Lemieux, while detailing the origins of the band’s comprehensive new release, Enjoying The Ride. “I’m not generally much of a concept guy, but in this case I think the concept is warranted. It’s 20 complete shows from 20 important Grateful Dead venues. So that’s 20 important venues in Dead history, three CDs per venue for a perfect 60 CDs on the Dead’s 60th anniversary.”
Recorded live on September 23, 2018 at Borderland Festival in East Aurora, NY, this new 2-LP vinyl release captures an unforgettable performance from Oteil & Friends – featuring one of only two appearances by Oteil’s brother, the late Kofi Burbridge.
Backed by a powerhouse lineup including John Kadlecik, Scott Metzger, John Kimock, and Kofi on keys and flute, the set delivers deep grooves, classic covers, and spirited jams that celebrate the musical legacy of the Grateful Dead and beyond. This limited edition pressing of 500 showcases a band in full flight during a joyful, exploratory set at one of the Northeast’s most beloved fall festivals.

To mark the occasion and signify Chenier’s esteem by his musical admirers, The Rolling Stones have taken on the artist’s 1965 recording, “Zydeco Sont Pas Salés,” sung entirely in French by Mick Jagger. The track is part of the forthcoming LP A Tribute To The King Of Zydeco, due June 27, 2025.
