The String Cheese Incident debuted in December 1993 at the Arts Center in Crested Butte. Over the years to follow the band actively crossed the country, performing upwards of 200 gigs a year on occasion. However, until Sunday night, SCI had yet to perform in the state of Delaware.

Last night Gov’t Mule made their way to Youngstown Foundation Amp in Youngstown, OH. The band shared the bill and the stage with Joe Bonamassa as will occur over the next few nights as well.

Last night, Little Feat turned in a two-set show at Los Angeles’ United Theater on Broadway as part of their The Last Farewell Tour. As the veteran LA-bred group prepares to retire from full-time touring—though they will continue to make select live appearances—the group has started to look back a little and, last night, the ensemble welcomed some old friends to the stage.
This special edition features interviews with members of Widespread Panic and other key figures who have helped shape the group’s compelling creative output. Archival images, poster art, and additional visual elements also set the tone. Indeed, the spirit of this issue will match the vigor and vitality of a buoyant band that never hesitates to ask, “Ain’t Life Grand?”

Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts will release a new album on September 18. This is the second studio effort from the group which also features Micah Nelson (guitar), Spooner Oldham (keys), drummer Anthony LoGergo (drums), and bassist Cory McCormick (bass).

Back in October 2020, Hiss Golden Messenger’s M.C. Taylor wrote an essay that accompanied the Vinyl Me, Please Anthology The Story Of The Grateful Dead. There he explained how he eventually came to be a Grateful Dead fan, stating in part, “I think the music of the Grateful Dead has remained so constant in my life—even as my taste has evolved and other music has fallen away—because of how genuine it feels, and how vulnerable. To know even a little bit of the Dead’s history, crisscrossed by so much triumph and weird luck and tragedy, is to begin to understand their journey as something akin to a Greek myth, or perhaps an American crossroads tale in which the singer bargains for fame and fortune and poetry in exchange for his soul.”

Snugfest will return to Vermont on Sunday, September 13. The Middlebury Snowbowl in Hancock, Vermont is the locale for this year’s installment of the event, which supports The Snug Foundation. This 501(c)(3) nonprofit is “dedicated to promoting kindness and compassion toward animals, people, and the planet.”

The Disco Biscuits summer tour has just been expanded by four dates. When the group had originally announced their plans, the itinerary included an August 30 gig in Asheville, NC. The venue was not confirmed at that time and the band has explained that the original locale has now changed with the addition of the new performances.
