Trey Anastasio stepped onstage in Portland, Ore. last night to commence his monthlong acoustic tour. Through June 24, the Phish frontman will command the spotlight solo and alongside pianist Jeff Tanski in intimate theaters across the country. For the first date in the 12-show run, he worked through 22 Phish staples and reliable solo entries.

Neil Young made his first live appearance of 2026 on Friday with a surprise set at a benefit concert. As part of a program celebrating the 90th birthday of Canadian environmentalist David Suzuki, Young took the stage for an unannounced solo acoustic staging and recognized his friend’s legacy with renditions of “After the Gold Rush” and “Heart of Gold.”

Jaimoe will perform with Friends of the Brothers a few times in the coming months, beginning with a June 13 show at the Warehouse at FTC in Fairfield, Conn. The drummer, the lone surviving member of the classic Allman Brothers Band lineup, started making semi-regular appearances with the ABB-related act, which features ABB biographer Alan Paul on guitar, following the death of Dickey Betts in 2024. The Connecticut-based drummer has been particularly active after a quiet year recently, sitting in with Tedeschi Trucks Band at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in May for a mini-ABB reunion on May 2 and joining Oteil & Friends at the Sun Patio Stage at Mohegan Sun, Uncasville, CT on May 16.

Last night, Flea took his Honora tour abroad for a show in London. The Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist’s world tour is already a star-studded affair, with backing from a band of pioneering instrumentalists from Los Angeles’ jazz and experimental scenes like Josh Johnson, Jeff Parker and Deantoni Parks, but their performance at the Camden Town venue showed extra prestige with a surprise sit-in from Thom Yorke.

On June 26-28, Wilco’s Solid Sound festival will return to MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA. The bi-annual event will blend all manner of art and performance. This year’s musical lineup includes Billy Bragg, who will join the host band to perform songs from their collaborative Mermaid Avenue album, as well as sets from The Breeders, Gang of Four, S.G. Goodman, L’Rain, Ryan Davis & The Roadhouse Band, Hannah Cohen and many others. John Hodgman’s Comedy Cabaret will present Jo Firestone, Demi Adejuyigbe, Jordan Klepper, and Joyelle Nicole Johnson. A new film about Bob James from director Mikael Jorgensen will screen at the fest, among many other activities.

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong have confirmed the details for their Flocktoberfest gathering. The fall event will take place at the Pisgah Brewing Company in Black Mountain, N.C. on Friday, October 9, 2026, featuring a headlining performance by the quartet and a support set from Asheville soul/rock/funk/brass outfit Hustle Souls.

Dark Star Orchestra hosted their annual Dark Star Jubilee at Legend Valley Concert Venue and Campground in Thornville, OH, over Memorial Day weekend. Trey Anastasio Band trumpeter Jennifer Hartswick was on site performing with her eponymous band on Saturday and made the rounds as well.
