After a three-year touring hiatus, Twiddle will return to the stage in November. The group will appear at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY on November 27-29, 2026 for three Frendsgiving shows. This is a fitting locale for the group’s reunion, since the Cap was the location of the group’s previous dates on November 24-26, 2023.

Keller Williams will perform two dates this weekend in Duck, NC. These shows at the Tap Shack represent the artist’s 7th Annual Duck Down. The opening night, Friday, July 24, will feature two sets from Williams’ Grateful Grass. In anticipation, he has just released a live performance from the group.

Jerry's Middle Finger, known out west for breathing new life into JGB and for their bond with the Fingerheads, heads east this fall with stops at Brooklyn Bowl, Ardmore, & the Hamilton, plus first-ever Southeast appearances in Asheville, Tampa, St. Augustine & more.

Don Was and The Pan-Detroit Ensemble came together in May 2024 after Terence Blanchard invited Was to participate in a jazz series that Blanchard was curating for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. As Was recalls, “I decided to find people who grew up listening to the same radio stations that I did and be as extreme Detroit as I could be. I realized that just about no one else is doing that, certainly not at my age of 73. Mitch Ryder is still out there playing. Iggy’s out there playing, but there aren’t a whole lot of folks from that era. So I put together a band of people who I knew, some of whom I’ve been playing with for 45 years. We already had a common language.”

Over the weekend, Billy Strings performed two shows at the Portsmouth Pavilion in Portsmouth, VA. On opening night Strings and his band added two songs to their repertoire. First up was the traditional “Ducks on the Millpond” early in the first set. Later on, at the close of the night, the group delivered a sweet goodbye via Jimmy Martin’s “The Last Song.” Other first set highlights included a 23-minute version of the quintet’s original “Hide and Seek” which is about the longest version of the song yet performed. The extended “Heartbeat of America” which opened the second frame was another crowd favorite. Also of note was the run from Strings’ “Malfunction Junction” into Billy Nershi’s “Black Clouds” which nearly hit the 22-minute mark.

Yo La Tengo will once again celebrate Hannukah at New York’s Bowery Ballroom. The veteran indie-rock trio will perform every night of the Festival of Lights, which this year falls on December 4-11, benefiting a different charitable organization at each show. As is tradition, the concerts will all feature a surprise opening act, unannounced guest comedian and a curated mix available for purchase. Different musical guests, which have ranged from local heroes to international stars over the years, will likely sit in each night as well.

As we reported yesterday, the Tedeschi Trucks Band have cancelled this weekend’s appearance at FloydFest and the Newport Folk Festival as Susan Tedeschi is having surgery to remove her appendix. TTB had been slated to perform at FloydFest on Friday and Newport Folk on Sunday. Both events have made announcements regarding the news.

Joe Russo’s Almost Dead took the road for three gigs late last week. The band appeared at Holliday Park in Indianapolis, IN on Thursday, followed by gigs at Evans Amphitheater in Cleveland Heights, OH on Friday and Riverfront Park in Harrisburg, PA on Saturday.
