The Beatles Announce Updated Anthology Series, Share Remastered “Free As A Bird” and New Music Video
Three decades after the release of The Beatles’ eight-part Anthology series inflated the capacity of what a music documentary could be, the group is back with an expanded look at their history, which informs their ever-present popularity. The Beatles Anthology incorporates a multi-media approach to celebrating the music and the Beatles’ brand, spanning film, audio, and print. As the first sonic preview, a remastered single and restored video for “Free As A Bird” is out now.

Dark Star Orchestra have announced a 13-date fall tour, spanning six states in the Northeast and beginning on November 13 at the Paramount Theatre in Rutland, Vt. On the back of the tour opener, the Grateful Dead tribute act, known for interpreting complete sets of music conceived initially by the original San Francisco jamband, will perform in Boston the following evening.

On Wednesday evening, Billy Strings took the stage at the intimate 990-capacity Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, B.C. After settling into the location on Tuesday evening, performing the first concert in a two-night run, the band was back and primed for their Rain City finale. On Oct. 26, 2019, Scott Sharrard was preparing to play his first show with Little Feat when the band received the tragic news they had been dreading—Paul Barrere, the veteran singer, guitarist and songwriter Sharrard was slated to temporarily fill in for, had passed away that very morning, following a four-year struggle with liver cancer.

On Sunday, August 17, Michael Franti’s Soulshine at Sea Festival was officially canceled. It was initially intended to take place from Nov. 4-8, 2025. In a post addressing the decision, the organizers, Sixthman, referenced “recent events” as the catalyst behind the dropped occasion. Before the festival made its choice to end it for all, select acts publicly dissociated from Franti’s performance endeavors, on tour, and the festival at large.

Trey Anastasio Band has announced a series of November tour dates. The Midwest bills will prelude the fifth anniversary of The Beacon Jams, and the namesake’s sold-out three-night return to the Upper West Side venue, November 28-30. Before taking the stage in The Big Apple, TAB will commence their tour over two nights, November 14 and 15, at Denver’s Mission Ballroom.
