Widespread Panic were all in during their three-night Sin City stand this past weekend. The premiere live band took their verve for generating uncanny musical encounters to their devoted fanbase at The Theater at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas, from Friday, May 8, to Sunday, May 10. Over multiple evenings, the band carved a path through a large amount of material with support from guitarist Nick Johnson, who is currently filling in for Jimmy Herring.

The historic spot, 3 Savile Row, Mayfair, London, already holds special meaning for Beatles fans despite the lack of official visiting hours. Carlos Santana has announced the return of his Las Vegas residency, An Intimate Evening with Santana: Greatest Hits Live: Presented by SiriusXM at House of Blues inside Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. The musician’s plan to renew his stay comes just days before a batch of spring dates pick up on Wednesday, May 13.

Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country returned to The Caverns of Pelham, Tenn. over the weekend for another Camp Cosmic. The Nashville axeman and his trusty backing band’s third annual event in the subterranean space included a full program of music and community activities, including late-night campground jams, sets from the Kyle Tuttle Band and Lindsay Lou & the Honey Moon Trio and three performances from the host band, who treated attendees to several live debuts.

After Grahame Lesh & Friends’ East Coast arrival on Thursday, May 7, at Brooklyn Bowl New York, the ensemble kept up appearances over the weekend. Following their regional opener, participating artists and special guests flooded Ardmore Music Hall’s Unlimited Devotion benefit for the Rex Foundation and Camp Winnarainbow. Then, the group kept the good times rolling during their follow-ups on Saturday, May 9, at the Regent Theatre in Arlington, Mass., and Sunday, May 10, at StageOne in Fairfield, Conn.

Red Hot Chili Peppers have reportedly sold their recording catalog to Warner Music Group for more than $300 million. The deal, conducted through WMG’s $1.2 billion catalog and publishing rights acquisition joint venture with Bain Capital, arrives just over a year after the band was first said to have started shopping their discography.

On Saturday, May 8, Ivan Neville took a different sort of stage in New Orleans, appearing at the University of New Orleans’ commencement ceremony for a speech and recognition of his artistic accomplishments. The lauded keyboardist, vocalist and bandleader was selected for the commencement address at UNO Lakefront Arena and an honorary doctorate for his “contributions to music and to the culture of New Orleans,” the university detailed in an announcement story.

Dave Matthews Band opened their 2026 tour in Texas earlier this weekend. Though the veteran group performed at Memphis’ RiverBeat Music Festival on May 3 and Matthews has made a few live appearances in recent months, including his annual pilgrimage to Mexico with Tim Reynolds, this weekend’s shows kicked off the band’s first full tour since August.
