Mempho Music Festival has revealed the artist lineup for its ninth annual event, set to stage from Oct. 9-11 in its namesake home of Memphis, Tenn. This year’s bill is helmed by Widespread Panic, who will return after a two-night headline booking last year with a four-set doubleheader on Saturday and Sunday, as well as cross-genre EDM mainstay Pretty Lights on Friday. Beyond the biggest names, this year’s lineup features several jam scene staples alongside enduring acts in blues-rock, hip-hop, reggae and alternative, plus some hometown heroes.

Trey Anastasio took his orchestral format to Kansas City, Mo.’s Helzberg Hall at Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts on Wednesday, June 11. Joined by the Kansas City Symphony for their first collaboration, the Phish frontman followed his orchestral set at Morrison, Colo.’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Sunday with a second movement through sweeping chamber arrangements of Phish favorites and solo originals.

Dave Matthews Band is crafting a trend. Weeks into their seasonal tour, the seven-person lineup has concocted setlist pockets fit for friends – guest players, known for their strengths when pressing bow and strings. After previously welcoming Tatiana Hargreaves in Raleigh, the band brought out another first-class fiddler, Casey Driessen, dubbed “a mad scientist with a five-string fiddle by Zac Brown,” during their Forest Hills Stadium appearance on Wednesday night.

On Wednesday evening, Greensky Bluegrass arrived at the Shelburne Museum in Shelburne, Vt., to participate in the Ben & Jerry’s Concerts on the Green series. The show marked their latest in a string of summer appearances, which will continue throughout the season. Last night’s gig included a guest slot, filled by singer-songwriter and regional resident Ryan Montbleau, who joined the group to cover “To Be Young (is to Be Sad, is to Be High).” The track’s arrival also marked a debut for the hosts.
