A cross-generational mix of acts will celebrate Yoko Ono at Los Angeles’ The Broad on Saturday, August 8, during a program dubbed Yoko Only: The Music of Yoko Ono. Keyboardist Yuka Honda will serve as the event’s guest curator and perform a selection of Yoko Ono and Plastic Ono Band tracks as part of a supergroup that includes her husband, Wilco guitarist Nels Cline, and Yo La Tengo. Guest vocalists and musicians like Theo Bleckmann, Finom, Emi Helfrich, Satomi Matsuzaki, Maggie Parkins, Patrick Shiroishi, Sleater-Kinney, Sylvan Esso, Tune-Yards and Rufus Wainwright will also join the ensemble throughout the night.

moe. and Umphrey’s McGee resumed their moe.ment.UM outing at Outer Banks, NC’s Roanoke Island Festival Park last night. The highly collaborative tour, as members of both groups recently discussed in a site interview, continues a musical conversation that stretches back almost 25 years. But it also arrives at an impactful time for Umphrey’s McGee: Jake Cinninger has been off the road most of the year for personal reasons and, on Tuesday, the group officially announced that the guitarist would be stepping away from Umphrey’s McGee permanently.

Carlos Santana has added a round of November appearances to his residency at Las Vegas’ House of Blues. Now in its 14th year, the new dates for the show, which is officially called An Intimate Evening with Santana: Greatest Hits Live: Presented by SiriusXM at House of Blues inside Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, will take place November 5, 7, 8, 11, 12, 14 and 15. The guitarist is already slated to play the House of Blues on September 6, 17, 19, 20, 23, 24, 26 and 27.

Wilco brought out drummer Jody Stephens during their concert at Memphis, TN’s Grind City Amphitheater on Tuesday night. The Big Star member, and local hero, emerged during the encore of Wilco’s two-set “evening with” show to play on “Box Full of Letters,” from Wilco’s 1994 debut A.M., and his own band’s enduring classic “In the Street.”

Mike Dillon has confirmed that his next album, Mike & Beignet Go to the Zoo, will arrive October via RPF Records/Royal Potato Family. The 11-track set completes a loose trilogy of solo instrumental releases following Functioning Broke (2016) and Rosewood (2020). The LP’s first single, “Puma and the Spider Monkey,” has been released along with the album’s announcement.
