On Saturday, September 27, Zach Bryan made history. The country sensation drew a crowd of 112,408 to the first-ever show held at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Mich. The gig represented the largest gathering of guests to attend a single concert in the U.S., according to AEG Presents, the promoter behind the event. The epoch-making night also included special guest John Mayer, who took the stage for a collaborative cover by one-time torchbearers of the same title, the Grateful Dead.

This past weekend, the Eddie Vedder-founded Ohana Festival returned to Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, Calif. The annual beachfront gathering, which originated in 2016, featured high-profile collaborations between the event’s founding father and select acts over the course of three days and ranging from country-informed Lukas Nelson to blues-rock troubadours Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, and more.

A new podcast will explore the life and music of Nigerian Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti. Jad Abumrad who created Radiolab as well as Dolly Parton’s America will host the show. Fela Kuti: Fear No Man, which will unfold over 12 episodes, is produced by Higher Ground, the media company founded by President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama. The series will draw on over 200 interviews with Fela Kuti’s friends. family members and a variety of musicians. Ayo Edebiri, David Byrne, Brian Eno, Ayo Edebiri and Santigold will offer recent reflections while Burna Boy, Questlove and Paul McCartney will appear via archival audio.
